SRx2 targets “light cleanup” while upscaling. Dedicated Denoise focuses mainly on removing stronger noise with more specialized behavior. If your image was shot in very low light or at high ISO and looks very grainy, Denoise will usually do a better job than SRx2 alone.  For strong grain, run Denoise first, then SRx2.
